CGS recently held two successful fundraising events.
The first was a pastel tea on Sunday, July 21, at 3 p.m. in the parish hall. Tables, each adorned with a ceramic teapot, and chairs, were decorated in the colors of yellow and white, pink and white, aqua and white, and lavender and white.
Approximately 150 people enjoyed the High Tea fare of finger sandwiches, scones, and various teas.
Next came a “good ole” fish fry on Saturday afternoon, September 9.
One hundred and thirty-one catfish and red snapper dinners were picked up between noon and 3:30 p.m. in the parish hall. The sides were hush puppies, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. Pound cake, Seven-up pound cake, soft drinks, and water were also available.
The monies raised from these two fundraisers will go toward needed church repairs.
